- VDI Infrastructure Engineer
Job Description:-
We are looking for a talented professional to fill an open position as an VDI Infrastructure Engineer. The VDI Infrastructure Engineer serves as part of the team providing installation; configuration; maintenance and support functions for the applications, systems and networks that make up the information technology infrastructure. This position is responsible for the configuration, administration and issue resolution of all areas of the infrastructure, including Windows Server administration, active directory maintenance, virtualization, SAN and cloud technology support. This role will also monitor systems to ensure optimal performance, work with Security team to ensure effective security controls are implemented, and mentor and provide leadership to other team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-
- Leads complex problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
- Designs, installs, configures, maintains and supports the technical infrastructure.
- Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical resources and Enterprise systems.
- Leads architectural design, testing, implementation, maintenance and training for complex technical projects requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.
- Researches and architects security solutions in cooperation with Security team.
- Monitors and maintains system and software security, in cooperation with security administrators.
- Serves as Subject Matter Expert in two or more technology domains.
- Leads efforts to automate repetitive IT processes.
- Provides mentoring to and supervises the work of more junior engineers.
- Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of system documentation
- Participate on a 24×7 on-call rotation.
- Works effectively as part of a team atmosphere to perform duties and achieve daily operational goals
- Meets productivity standards in accordance with confidentiality policies and organizational values
- Performs additional duties as needed within the department
Position Requirements:-
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field desired.
- 5-8 years working in a VMWare Horizon VDI environment.
- 4-5 years working with Windows servers
- 1-2 years working with advanced backup systems
- 1-3 years working with SAN’s, Networking, office 365, Teams
- Azure or comparable cloud certification a plus.
- Mid to advanced network administration experience including configuring Cisco switches and routers.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in two or more of the following domains:
- Hands-on experience assessing and migrating on premise workloads to AWS or Azure a plus
- Working knowledge of the Azure platform and core Azure services, including virtual machines, block storage, Active Directory, virtual networks, load balancers, and VPN gateways.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and supervise the activities of junior staff.
- High degree of organization, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
